All players are required to bring photo identification to all playoff games. If you do not have photo ID you will not be permitted to play. NO EXCEPTIONS Time:3 - 14 Minute stop-time periods. If the score is tied with 7:00 remaining in permit (ice time), the clock will be reset to 2:00. If the score remains tied at the end of regulation time, the winner will be decided by a shoot-out. If the score becomes tied with less than 5:00 remaining in permit (ice time), shoot-out will take place immediately. Shoot-outs:
Teams will no longer be reseeded as they win, teams will advance through playoff rounds as per the schedule posted online.
Each team will designate 5 players for shoot-out. These 5 players will have to be submitted to the time keeper, and must shoot in the order submitted. The designated players from each team will alternate until all 10 players have shot. If the score remains tied after the intial 10 players have shot, the winner will be decided by a 'sudden-death' shoot-out. No player serving a penalty at the end of regulation time will be permitted to participate in the shoot-out. The original 5 designated players from each team will alternate until a winner has been decided. Seeding/Re-seeding order:
2. Fewer penalty minutes 3. Goal differential 4. Coin toss If your team is unable to proceed in the playoffs please advise the time keeper at the start of the game. Player Eligibility
This season players will be required to wear "team jerseys" to play in all playoff games. Accepted forms of "team jerseys" are, your team jersey complete with logo, a solid jersey with a number but no logo, or an NCHL practice jersey with a number on the back. All jerseys must be the same in color and have distinct numbers. Any jerseys with matching numbers will not be allowed, with the exception of the goaltender.

Welcome to the NCHL |

Saturday, October 16, 2010 |
Thank you for joining the NCHL for its first season in Edmonton. This website will act as your hub for all league news, your schedule, standings and stats. We are really excited about this upcoming season and look forward to providing you with the best hockey experience in Edmonton. The NCHL started in Calgary six years ago, and like Edmonton we started small and have now grown into the largest recreational hockey league in Southern Alberta. We can link the leagues growth to two major factors:
1. The philosophy: we have encouraged all of our player to play with maturity, respect and at the same time go out, compete hard every game and have fun. When you don't have to worry about all the extra curricular activities, such as fighting that happen in some other leagues (NCHL has a zero fight policy, one fight and you are banned from the league), we find that the only thing left to think about is playing hockey! The NCHL truly is a better way to play.
2. We LOVE hockey: are goal is to make the hockey experience in the NCHL the best we can. Every year we add new things to make your experience with the NCHL and on the ice better. We play the game, we know the game, we love the game. Stats website, 14min stop time periods, winter and summer hockey, providing pucks and water bottles, Directpay fee payment, tournaments etc. All the things we would want as hockey players ourselves we want to implement into the NCHL Edmonton. We also want to hear feedback from you... what would you like to see? Let us know: edmonton@nchl.com
