NCHL 2011-12 Player Survey Results
Over 150 players submitted a survey and gave us feedback on the NCHL and their experience in the league. With these results we are able to identify the areas that we do well and most importantly the areas where we can improve your experience. Overall respondents give the NCHL a 7 out of 10 ranking. Areas such as game atmosphere, competition, game rules, pim caps, discipline, website and payment options rank very highly.
The two main areas of improvement that were identified were referees and scheduling. Our goal is to always improve the NCHL experience and over the last few months we have implemented a number of new protocols and policies to address concerns in these two specific areas.
Referees - A new Referee Protocol has been implemented to gain a more consistent refereeing experience. Regular clinics and meetings have been scheduled for ALL NCHL referees and Timekeepers. Evaluations will be made by both on ice officials and by the league administration. Game Experience forms (left column of the website) filled out by you the players will help us identify both good and bad referee experiences. All of these efforts combined in a concentrated effort from league admin will increase the consistency of your NCHL experience.
Scheduling - As one of the newer leagues in the city we are always trying to better our ice times. This year is no exception and we have gained more primetime ice for teams to access. One of the greatest benefits to the NCHL that no other league provides is your schedule for the entire year. Most teams see the full benefit of this part of the league, but some teams, because of realignment, will have changes to their schedule. Redoing schedules mid-season poses some challenges as the lead time for a game change after realignment might be very small. The parity of the league is paramount to us and we do our very best to let teams know as soon as possible that their game has changed. We are doubling our efforts in regards to this kind of notification in hopes that the communication of the change and why the change was needed will help to ease the transition for teams.
Thank you all for the valuable feedback on the NCHL. It is with your input that we can make the NCHL a Better Place to Play.
